It is quite late into the wee hours, and yea, since I have maxed out my level in Restaurant City in Facebook, I have nothing much else to play in the computer. And thus, I went to my old hobby, that is, blog surfing. (Blogs of my friends as well as my own blogs that were abandoned)

It was quite 'Those were the days' feeling during my blog surfing. I didn't just read the recent entries in the blogs, but also those that were written like 2-3 years ago, sort of like archive-surfing. Like my secondary school days in Catholic High--the Breakfast Club, my orientation at NYJC during 1st 3 months in OG 6, PAE CT 0615, then JAE CT 0619, Sheena-na, KA, Youzhi Club, Gossip Club, yada yada etc etc. But most of the entries were about my JC days since my Cat High friends and I were mostly not those 'very on' blogger type during secondary school days. But yea, from my JC days, I was reminded about many events and happenings (remember the blog wars? LOLed) that occurred and many thoughts just whizzed through my mind. How everything changes...

Okay, back to 2009 June. Now, everyone's busy with their own lives and we have our own lives to live. Some have isolated from the rest of us, while some became closer to the rest of us. We may have numerous meet-ups and gatherings every now and then after we have graduated, but yet, they are and will never be the same, those days will never be relived again. We may not remember it well, but it would still remain in our heart, our mind, our soul, somewhere inside us, for the rest of our lives...

So yea, that's all. Pardon me for such a disorganized and random post. I just typed down whatever that appeared in my mind. Haha.

Hmm, this week I won't be writting those thinkables but my happenings in summary.

My company had a route march in Tekong, hence, I was tasked to station at Rocky Hill Camp to help out in rations and water. Rocky Hill Camp was where I was previously during my BMT for 3 months. Then I saw Hong Siang and Hong Guang! They were COSes on that day. Haha. Yup. Oh, and I had some supernatural experience over there to. A bit irked by it, and don't wanna talk about it here. LOL

Hah, and anyways, did anybody imagined before that a private like me can stand-in for COS in my company? Well, it did. Considering I am of the lowest rank in the army, I can also do stuffs of those with ranks of 3 stripes. Hah.

Yup, that's all. Most probably will be going to Howard's house to play Guitar Hero and also drink some vodka. Been about 3 months plus since I touched alcohol, so today I will enjoy drinking it again. Yea.

Seems like some of my friends have already kena-ed the lose x amount of pounds aka lose weights adware or spyware or virus or something like that.
From my knowledge, a computer will only get infected if the victim clicked on that link. So is it really curiosity? Or obsession to lose weight aka be perfect in this materialistic commercialised world which 'motivates' people to get attracted to these false promotions or deals and ended up causing them to get their computers infected with these problems.

Actually, I have a better way of letting people lose their pounds a whole lot faster.
Go to a money changer, change all of your savings from Singapore dollars to British pounds, then give it to me. In this way, you will lose your pounds.... to me!

When for a 10km run at East Coast Park with my company today. The sun burnt my skin red hot. Yup.

Then after the run, I went to walk walk a bit myself around East Coast and think think think about the past, really missed the days.

Then after that I went to Clarke Quay to meet up and catch up with my Cat High school mates--Weilie, Howard, Kai Quan, Ke Jun, and Joey. It's been really quite a while since I last saw them, more than 1 or 2 years I think. Had dinner at Fisherman's Wharf, coffee at Starbucks, then after that went to Howard's house slack slack for a while. Then at about 2315hrs I left his house cuz I was afraid that I may miss the last bus home. Sadly, I missed the bus by just that 1 min. Thus, took a cab home, $18.00!!! Midnight surcharge...

Anyways, quite a good day since I can catch up with my sec sch mates. Yea, which reminds me, I have yet to plan for outings for my JC class. Hmmm...

9 Days

Yep, from tonight till next next tuesday, 10th Feb, I will be stuck either in camp or Jurong Island. Only then, on next next tuesday, I will be able to book out again for only 2 days before going back. So, it means that 9 days away from my civilian life. Somewhat like confinement like that. =(

Low morale stuffs aside, yesterday, some of the o619 peeps (Zhiyi, Sihong, Kaibin, Dexter, his girlfriend, Yong Cai, Tyson, Lisin, Novi) went to my house to play mahjong, cards and have steamboat dinner. Somewhat like a Chinese New Year celebration. Quite fun I can say. Yup, next year's Chinese New Year will be even better as I would already ORD. Free from the clutches of NS!!! =)

Fruitful Week Spent

Had quite a fruitful week, all the leaves, offs and holidays were not wasted.

This might be a long entry I tell ya.

Sunday-Went out with Zhiyi at Bugis, he bought a new Zinc bag.

Monday-Cleared my leave on the 2nd half of the day, went to Orchard, Somerset, Dhoby Ghaut, City Hall, Bugis to shop shop walk walk.

Tuesday-Went to have dinner with Zhiyi and at the same time planned for the o619 outing.

Wednesday-o619 outing at Pitstop Cafe! Those who went are Yong Cai, Kuei Hsien, Tyson, Zhiyi, Lisin, Novi, Shu Jia, and I. Had quite a fun time there.

Thursday-Stoned at home and also planned for the o615 outing.

Friday-2 outings, OG 6 and o615. Joined the OG 6 people, Ren Kai, Ming Kwang, Chee Siong, Guan Kang, Zhiyi, Poon Shi, Meiyu, Xue Wei and Adeline, for a while to chit chat, then after that left to join the o615 people, Hua Sheng, Hong Guang, Siok Hwa, Tsu Yin, Jo'An, Hong Siang, Lincoln, Tyson, at MindCafe at Purvis Street. Had quite a fun time there. It's about 2 years plus since we met up with those who left NYJC after first three months. Yea. Oh, for our o615 outing, we did not take any photo!!! Ahhh, it slipped through our mind!!! Next outing must take photos okay? Yea.

So that quite sums up the whole week. Next week will be back to the normal same old NS life, but hopefully I will get the shift that will get the New Year Eve and New Year so that I can celebrate the New Year's Day with my friends rather than in NS. Yup.

Went shopping yesterday with Zhiyi and today by myself...

Nothing bought except for some beverages to quench the thirst from the exothermic sun.

Felt a bit like time wasting cuz I did not meet my mission, ie. to buy a shirt with epaulettes for myself and a wonderful birthday present for my sister whose birthday is on the 26th of December. Although I love to shop, but I realized that I do not really understand the techniques and skills of shopping. I do not know exactly where to buy some stuffs and also the things to buy for people for different occasions... Oh well, will be going to shop tomorrow again, hopefully it will be a lot more fruitful.

Field Camp in Tekong

Just came back from a 4 days Field Camp in Tekong.
Can say that it brought back a lot of my BMT memories cuz my harbouring area was near Rocky Hill Camp.
Oh, the coincidental thing is that on 15th December 2007, I went to Tekong for the first time for my BMT. Then this year, 15th December 2008, I am back to Tekong for field camp.
Sort of a deja vu feeling.

Long time since we meet up. So I used this period of time sincethey completed their A Levels and asked them out. And we went to Pitstop Cafe! (Surprisingly, I saw Xue Wei with her friends there and Yvonne working there as well..)
Hmm, time really passes so fast, I still remembered about 2 years ago during O1 when I was the OGL of OG26 and they were all fresh out of secondary schools, now, they have completed their pre-u education and moving on to their university education...

Organic Chemistry 7th Edition by John McMurry (Kinokuniya: $58.32, Popular: $71.58)

Comparing prices, assuming I go to Kinokuniya to buy Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry books and go to Popular to buy Chemistry & Chemical Reactivity book, which the prices overall are the lowest, I would spend exactly $202.66!!! For 3 books!

The All-So-Holy One Week Leave, yearned so much by many NSFs, has arrived. But, to me, it's bad timing. Most of my friends are preparing for university exams, stuck in their camps, have something on, or just 'not free'. Thus when I am deployed to Jurong Island later in November, it would be a 180 degree change, i.e. they will be free and I will be busy by then. So how am I gonna spend my one week leave? Let the clock ticks away.

Quite a happy and fun day!

Yup, so since most of the uni people will be having their exams soon, their Decembers will most likely be free, but my company is clearing my leave on the last week of October. So I won't have any leave on December. Which means that I won't have enough time to go out during December.

Sucks man, blah blah blah... (Laments about the inefficient Organisation which screws up the off days and the leaves).. .. ..
Perhaps this is one of the main reason migration rate is increasing so rapidly here. Hmm...
But heck it, just finish my remaining 1 year 2 months in that Organisation and I will forget everything about the Organisation and be back to my normal life again.
See, the Organisation failed its agenda.

Long weekend given, but seems that it is given in the wrong time.

So I think this long weekend is sort of wasted...

I got my School Graduating Certificate. Everything's good, just that Miss Ng wrote me as 'a source of humour'.

Help!

In order to make use of these 2 wasted years of my NS, I usually will borrow books or buy books regarding Chemistry and Biochemistry so that I can read them during free time. However, while reading some books on biochemistry, I realised that I am unable to understand most of the stuffs inside that are related to biology. (And my course in uni is Chemistry AND Biological Chemistry) So, I am worried that I may not be able to make it since I have never touched any biology before during secondary school and junior college.

Hmm, perhaps after university starts, I will ask some of the girls whom I know taking NTU's Chemistry & Biological Chemistry this year. If there is too much high level biology involved, MAYBE I will be thinking of changing courses.

Pardon me, I am not fickle-minded about my uni courses, but I will do what I think is better for me. But of course I will ask others regarding other Chemistry courses in NTU and NUS lest there is more of this similar problem occuring.

Although this week is a slack week, I was awarded with 1 x EXTRA guard duty on weekends.
Why? Due to my carelessness during the guard duty (actually I was arrowed innocently to do that guard duty) that I had on Friday.
So, one of my upcoming weekends will be GONE...

Anyways, there had been some rumours of promotion of some of us from privates to lance corporals.
For me, there is some chances of promotion since my appointment is the second highest among the men, but since I did not do my IPPT and SOC due to my knee injury, I may not be able to promote so soon.

But never mind anyways.
Just waiting for this 2 years to end.

Attend 'C'

Now I am on attend C (aka MC) for 1 day.
Just went to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to see the specialist on my knee.
He said that I might have damaged my knee cartilage and it will heal quite slowly.
Thus, he gave me attend C for today and excused running, marching, jumping indefinitely until my knee is okay.
He also gave me 500 glucosamine capsules which will last for 3 months!
I think this Saturday and Sunday no more bang bang bang for me.

Anyways, these long long weekend I have been doing almost nothing fruitful.
Everyday just cooped up at home sleeping or using the computer.

Oh, and seems like there is really something wrong with my left knee.
Although now I can walk quite normally and my knee can bend quite a large angle, there is a sharp pain when I squat or kneel or just using my knee to do some strenous activities.
Yup, I went to the doctor in Yishun Polyclinic and she referred me to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for physiotherapy on the 17th of June.
I seriously don't know what is wrong with my left knee.
From these keywords: X-rays, ligament, degenerative, spiking... Who knows the severity of my left knee injury?

I only want my left knee to get better, then I can do the things that I can do in the past and perhaps more.

I've applied for my course in Uni.
NTU's Chemistry & Biological Chemistry.
And the funny thing is that during the application, I realised that NUS also accepted my application for NUS faculty of Science.
But I have to forgo one, thus, I rejected NUS (not NUS reject me) and my future university course will be NTU's Chemistry & Biological Chemistry.

Will be booking in today although just booked out today's morning.
But it's okay because in 2 weeks time, I will be wearing a beret instead of a jocky(sp.) cap.

Diagnosis

Went to Yishun Polyclinic yesterday because of my left knee.
After the X-rays, the consultations etc, it comes to this conclusion--My left knee and the ligament are injured and from the X-ray report of my left knee, there is 'mild tibial spiking, secondary to degenerative change'.
I can't comprehend what the X-ray report is talking about, but the word degenerative change sounds a bit scary.
Perhaps I will eat more calcium supplements.
Anyways, now, I am given 2 weeks light duty, which means that I can't do any strenuous activities for these 2 weeks, which means that in camp, I will be the sai-kang warrior.
But oh well, really hope my knee will heal and I can do my normal stuffs again.

For those who don't know, I had an NTU Chemistry & Biological Chemistry course interview on the 19th of April.
Then today, after I booked out from my camp because of the off-in-lieu from those burned weekends, I received a letter from NTU.
NTU approved my application for admission to study Chemistry & Biological Chemistry!

Anyways, I just removed my stitches today.
No visible scars.
=)
But my left knee still hurts.

I am now at home, not at camp.
Why?
Because I got an Attend C aka MC until tomorrow (Friday 25th April).
I injured my chin and my left knee during training.
Now, I got a bump on my left knee and 3 stitches on my chin. First time I got stitches man, and there is gonna be a scar there forever.

As you can see, I am posted to the 6th Singapore Infantry Regiment (6 SIR).
I can't say much about my unit for the fear that I may leak out sensitive information.

6 Singapore Infantry Regiment

The only 24/7 deployed force, 6 SIR is a unit renowned for its courageous, strong and dedicated soldiers, ideally personified by the Spartans, the characters chosen to represent the unit. The Spartans was founded on 2 Apr 1968 and was based in Taman Jurong Camp and served under the command of 3 DIV and in the process building their reputation as tough and effective soldiers. In Jan 1995,6 SIR was placed under the command of HQ 10 SIB as part of 9 Division and the unit shifted to Selarang Camp. On 12 Jul 2004, the unit was transferred to the command of HQ 2 PDF and relocated to Maju Camp two months later. In Nov 2006, the unit officially turned operational, thus becoming the only Active Protection of Installation (POI) battalion in the army.

Bearing the motto of “Tough and Effective”, the Spartans strive to bring honour to the battalion. The unit is operationally ready and deployed 24/7. Indeed, it is well poised to rise up to all challenges.

My knowledge about Chemistry is a bit rusted, so while helping her, I also de-rusted my Chemistry knowledge.

And for today, Friday, went to Causeway Point to repair my Samsung U700.
It will be ready in a week's time.

Now, I wanna buy a PSP, and also a pair of Vans shoes.

Got back our A Levels results.
My results are slightly below my expectations.
But ok la, hope I can enter the course that I wanted.

NTU's Hons in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry seems to be attracting me.
But I will wait till I go to NUS's open house before confirming the course that I will be taking after I ORD (which is in about 1 year 9 months.)

Finally I made it

For the first time in 155879254668736434363676 years, I finally passed my 2.4km run!
I never passed my run before, not even in primary nor secondary school.

I had my IPPT on last Monday. Here's my results:
2.4km Run: 12.07 mins
Chin-up: 12 times
Shuttle Run: 9.9 secs
Sit-ups: 41 times
Standing Broad Jump: 216cm

So overall, I passed my IPPT and now, I can say that I passed my BMT.
Now, I am awaiting for my 24km route march and passing out parade!

Hmm, there seems to be quite a number of good movies popping out lately.

Quite a good week, most restrictions lifted.
And best of all, I was selected to be interviewed to go for a vocation in National Service.
Although I was accepted in the interview, I hope that the for the posting of units, I can enter the vocation.
I don't know whether I can disclose that vocation, thus, I may tell you only in person.

24 Hours

In about 24 hours, I will be on my way to Pasir Ris to prepare to book in back to Tekong.
God knows when will I book out again since my commanders and the OC they all are quite pissed with my company.
They said we will be staying back for all weekends to recap on the basics, which I think should be considered as confinement.

Man, sometimes I really dread NS life.
Perhaps you can say that I am a wussy since tons of batches of NSmen decades ago suffered even worse fate then us, but I really prefer my civilian aka normal life to army life.
I can't wait for my Passing Out Parade (POP) on the 12th of March 2008 and also my Operational Ready Date (ORD) on the 14th of December 2009.
Sometimes I really need to talk to someone about my problems lest I can't take it any longer.

There's still about 52 days before I leave a wonderful place.
The place is on a beautiful island on the northeastern part of Singapore.
A good life I have in a Condominium with a large room with 11 other people with nice view of both the sea and the forest, and best of all, free gym membership and food for a total of 3 months.

Yea, our whole company kena confined due to a handful of troublemakers, thus I am back here only today but booking in again today's evening too.

Yup.
Confinement is nothing to be feared about since I am getting pretty used to NS life.
But I still missed my civilian life though.
Nevermind, 14th Dec 2009, my freedom will be back.

Had my IPPT on Thurday.
2.4km run: Should be around 13-14 mins (Improved since dunno when.)
Shuttle Run: 9.4sec (Ownage!)
SBJ: 200cm (Dropped due to fatigue from shuttle run =p )
Sit-ups: 45 (No much comments)
Chin-ups: 6 (Those are perfect hand straight and full chin over the bar. The other few more that I did were not counted)

Quite contented with my results.
At least for future IPPT I will have a very high chance of passing.

Next week's Field Camp so I won't be back until after next next Friday or so.
Oh yea, sergeant Gary said that usually after field camp, we all will lose weight and also become stronger, then IPPT will surely improve.

So cool.

Now I somehow feel that my brain is degenerating.
I can't think that well as compared to the past.

My Internet was down thus I wasn't online during New Year.
But now it's ok le.

Yea, one week left till the Physical Training Phase is over and the real Basic Military Training will commence.
The trainings are becoming tougher and tougher, but I seemed to enjoy them more and more.
But my brain seems a bit lagging academically.
Someone asked me about 'collinearity' in Math and it took me a couple of minutes to figure out and explain.
Perhaps I should bring some school work there to do so that my brain will not rust.

Yup.
And now, no more concessionary student price for EZ-link card anymore.
My trip from Pasir Ris to Yishun Bus Interchange costs about $2++.
No wonder most working adults' pay are more than $10 per hour if you count by hourly rates.
Oh, and I received my allowance for half a month le, $200+.
I think the allowance for a recruit is $450.
Ya, should be, heard from some of my bunk mates.

So I changed the song to 'My December' by Linkin Park.
It is one of the few slow 'poprock'-like songs from Linkin Park.
And the song sounded quite nice to me.

Came back home today from Tekong.
So far the trainings are manageable for me.
And I now don't feel any muscle strain nor tiredness.
This is good.

The excitement of booking out is lesser than what it is during our first book out.
Perhaps I am getting used to NS life which is quite good.

I need to train even harder for my IPPT.
Somehow I feel like going to School of Infantry Specialists (SISPEC) after my BMT.
Oh well, see how my dreaded 2.4km run will fare.

Realised that I should have gone to Queensway Shopping Centre to shop for prom stuffs.

Went for midnight movie with some of my classmates.
Watched 'The Tattooist'.
I wonder what genre is the movie.
There's no horror or whatsoever.
The movie is just like a discovery channel or national geographic programme.
First few times watching horror movies in cinema whereby there is not even one scream.

Ok, then went to Sentosa to slack and talk and to watch sunrise.
Didn't see the sun rise anyways, wrong direction.

Then went for Airforce Officer Seminar.
Did not apply for Airforce Officer as I think that the path is not what I wanted since their scholarship mainly apply for courses that I have absolutely no much interest in.
Furthermore, my 'perfect' eyesight of 800+ degrees render me unavailable to most of the scholarship.
But the food catering was nice.
Actually, it is supposed to be nice since the event was held in Raffles City Convention Centre and food is catered by Raffles City Hotel, 5-star hotel.

Yup.
Oh, regarding those subjects about love which some of us kept discussing these few days.
Somehow, I think that one should not be so depressed after repeated rejections.
It's like, since a person has rejected you for numerous times, the person do not have inerest in you.
Continuing will make the person hate you even more and perhaps you will not be able to even be friends with the person.
By drowning in sorrows, you are just wasting your days alive since you are not productive.
Wasting oxygen, wasting food, wasting water, contributing to global warming, poverty and environmental degradation.
Come on, world population stands at 6+billion, and the number of females outweighs the number of males.
Your choices are damn huge.
Let's say there are 1+ billion females about your age.

Just bought shoes on the way back home after paying tuition fees today.
Somehow, tuition fee dropped from $440 to $360 to $240.
Now, what's left for prom is accessories.

Chalet tomorrow.
Won't be online for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
Really hope that this chalet will be fun and memorable.

But I haven't prepare my chalet clothes and stuffs yet.
Tomorrow morning then.
